Walmart wants to buy TikTok jointly with Microsoft
Microsoft is one of the potential buyers to buy video sharing app TikTok in the US. But this time Walmart is interested in buying a tick jointly with Microsoft. Kevin Mayer, CEO of TikTok, resigned on Thursday. Within hours, Walmart announced its decision. In addition to Microsoft and Walmart, Twitter and Oracle have also expressed interest in buying tickets.
Walmart said in a statement: "We believe that a joint venture with Microsoft will be able to reach a large number of customers. We are confident that the partnership between Walmart and Microsoft will be able to meet the expectations of TikTok users in the United States. It will also gain the trust of US government regulators.
ByteDance, the owner of TikTok, is expanding its business in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The company wants to finalize the agreement by September 15. These transactions could amount 20 to 30 billion. But you have to wait a few more days to know the exact amount.
